Luxembourg-based exotic car dealer Art&Revs has put up an unusual Chevrolet Corvette for sale. This is the official racing modification of the fifth generation coupe, developed by the company itself.
In total, between 1999 and 2005, Chevrolet produced only 11 of these cars for the factory racing team. Interested buyers are encouraged to inquire about the price of this rare Corvette through a separate inquiry.
The track Chevrolet Corvette C5-R is considered one of the most successful racing Corvettes built according to FIA GT1 regulations. He has several dozen victories in various series and at the most prestigious events, including the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 12 Hours of Sebring.
The example offered for sale did not race on behalf of the works team: in 2002, chassis number 007 was built as a spare, and later sold to the Belgian SRT team. The sports car was taken out of service in 2008, and was carefully restored between 2016 and 2019. It is claimed that the coupe is still capable of proving itself on the track.
Chevrolet equipped the Corvette C5-R with a seven-liter engine with an output of 650 hp. and 773 Nm. It is not specified which gearbox this engine is combined with on chassis 007. Track cars used both manual and sequential gearboxes of various types.
