Man-made islands in Dubai: a pearl for tourists

Dubai is an ultra-modern city built in the desert that attracts the attention of large investors, businessmen and tourists. A lot of ambitious projects have been implemented here.

But perhaps one of the most technically complex engineering achievements in the world was the palm islands.

The Palm Islands are an archipelago of artificial islands in the Persian Gulf. Each of the islands has a name: Jumeirah, Jebel Ali and Deira. Between the islands there are also the archipelagos The World and The Universe, consisting of small islands.

Only the Palm Jumeirah, a crescent-moon-crowned island that extends approximately 5 km into the Persian Gulf, has been completed so far.

The world’s first artificial island grew in 2 years. It took several more years to build 4.5 thousand hotels, buildings and shopping centers.
